The Festival of Lifelong Learning is a unique opportunity for youth, parents, teachers, and school leaders to work with educational experts and explore and reflect on the most current issues in the world of holistic education and development. Participants will also get to engage in a cutting-edge dialogue on the preparation for the 22nd century and a successful and healthy life in the VUCA* world of exponential technological change.
The festival is built around the two themes of The Learning Within Us and The Learning Around Us.
*VUCA – a term referring to volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity of our times
AGA CHOJNACKA-AL ATAT
Educator, PYP Coordinator, Consultant, Author
Aga Chojnacka-Al Atat is a leader of learning, maker, play advocate, and SDGs goalkeeper. She holds a B.A in Teaching English to Young Learners and a Master’s degree in Applied Linguistics – Teaching and Translation. In her life and work, Aga is driven by values of courage and kindness. Throughout her professional life, she has worked across Europe and Asia as a PYP Teacher (20 years), curriculum director and coordinator (15 years), professional learning coach, maker space facilitator, IB workshop leader, and consultant (10 years). Aga’s professional expertise and inquiry focus on building culturally responsive communities, life-long learning, agency by design, play as a way of knowing, and the environment as the 3rd teacher. Recently, Aga started her own independent global educational consultancy and established her own NGO, The 3 Alternatives Foundation – Kindness, Curiosity, Creativity. Her first three picture books will be published this year in Poland and Asia.
KIMBERLY L. MITCHELL
Educator, Author, Speaker, Award-winning Inquiry-based Practitioner
Kimberly is a passionate inquiry-based teaching researcher and philosophy practitioner with over thirty years of experience in education. She has lived and worked in the United States, Ecuador, Greece, and Argentina as an elementary and middle teacher, an International Baccalaureate high school and elementary school principal, a Senior Program Officer at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and a Program Director at Teach for All. A graduate of Stanford University’s Education Administration & Policy program, she is the author of Experience Inquiry, founder of Inquiry Partners, and distinguished teaching professor at the University of Washington. Kimberly and her Filipino-American husband enjoy spending time every year with their family in the Philippines and have two grown children who continue to inspire and delight them.

Kailyn Fullerton
Kailyn Fullerton is a passionate educator, a curious meditator, a tireless optimist, a recovering perfectionist and a serial wanderluster. The founder of Upstream Collaborative, Kailyn endeavours to use the transformative potential of mindfulness and social-emotional learning (SEL) to support educators, leaders, parents and students in their journey towards holistic and systemic wellbeing. As an educator, she has taught in international schools in Thailand, Ukraine and Indonesia. Kailyn is currently a doctoral candidate at Antioch University, specializing in SEL and exploring the influence of mindfulness-based SEL with international school educators. For her own self-care, she enjoys meditation and yoga, reading fantasy and historical fiction, forest walking, and spending time with family and friends.
